Further information

Day 1. Arrival, Transfer and Initial Briefing

The expedition begins at 14:00 upon meeting the group at Bucharest Otopeni Airport (OTP). Following the introduction, the four-hour journey to the Hargita base camp commences. You will arrive at the lodge in time for dinner and start the tour with the first specialized mammal watching session.

Day 2–6. Field Methodology and Focused Tracking

Five intense days are dedicated entirely to maximizing time spent within the prime Lynx territories. The daily schedule is flexible, including evening and pre-dawn excursions to capitalize on peak activity hours. The success of the mission is supported by a robust local network of foresters, hunters and wildlife enthusiasts who supply real-time updates on recent Lynx activity. The team utilizes an extensive network of field cameras and deploys the entire local team (4 persons) for location assistance. The highest probability of a daylight sighting relies on locating a fresh kill. You must be prepared for extended periods of silent observation, regardless of the large team effort. Resting chairs and blinds will be supplied when needed. Beyond the Lynx, monitoring efforts may also result in encounters with Roe Deer, Red Deer, Red Fox, Wildcat, Brown Bear and the slight possibility of a Grey Wolf.

Day 7. Conclusion of Services

After the final breakfast at the lodge, the group will proceed with the transfer back to Bucharest Otopeni Airport. The tour officially concludes upon arrival at OTP at 15:00. Please ensure your flight departure is not scheduled earlier than 17:00.
